Spartan Navara D40 turbo upgrade Project Part 1

Navara D40 Turbo Upgrade – Spartan STS-46 Performance Test

At Spartan Turbocharger Systems, we love putting our products to the test before they reach customers. This test vehicle, a standard Nissan D40 Navara, became the perfect candidate for a Navara D40 turbo upgrade. Starting with a standard tune, we added a Tillix Performance and Tuning Boost Control System, achieving 125 kW at 22 PSI. For improved throttle response and traction, we also installed an Ultimate9 EVC-X Boost Controller.

Next, we installed our STS-46 769708 Turbocharger along with a PPD Performance 3-inch stainless exhaust. A custom ECU tune pushed the vehicle to its limits, reaching 181 kW and 702 Nm at 36 PSI on standard injectors (for testing purposes). The boost response was exceptional, and the turbo spooled quickly. The factory intercooler and airbox were the limiting factors for air-fuel ratios, which ran slightly rich under maximum load.

Currently, we are developing a full front-mount intercooler and custom airbox setup designed specifically for this model. This will further optimize the Navara D40 turbo upgrade for maximum efficiency and performance. Stay tuned for updates on power figures, intake air temperatures, and additional improvements.
