Nissan Navara D40 YD25 2.5L Long Term RESULTS! | Version 1 STS-769708
It has now been 6 months and 10,000kms since we have started testing the new Nissan Navara D40 bolt on high flow turbo and we have had some absolutely spectacular results, by far the BEST BOLT ON D40 NAVARA Turbo on the market. Here's how it went...
For Reference, here is the Specs of the NISSAN NAVARA D40 SPARTAN TURBO
Boost Rating | 16PSI-30PSI |
Cooling Type | Oil and Water Cooled |
Bearing System | Spartan Custom Bearing Set |
Compressor Wheel | STS 46MM 6+6 Billet |
Turbine Wheel | STS 9 Blade Hi-Flow |
Actuator | Vacuum System, Pre-Calibrated |
HERES HOW IT WENT
After 10,000kms at 38psi, we decided the best thing to do was to tear the turbo down and inspect the internals. As we expected, the upgraded internals held up perfectly, with zero scoring, zero play and everything looking exactly how it was when we built it.
We threw the D40 back on the dyno for a second round of turning, this time turning up the boost to 40psi to do further stress testing, and for the last month it has been loving life, tackling multiple 4WD day trips, and daily driving. Keep in mind this is standard injectors, standard head gasket, standard everything. Just a straight through high flow exhaust, and Demon Pro Parts Intercooler.
279 | HP |
208.1 | KW |
591.9 | NM Torque |
Where are we going from here?
We are always trying to improve our turbos, and we have a few things we will be changing up for V2 of the D40 STS-769708. For lovers of high RPM power, V1 is a perfect option. For V2, we are looking at upgrading to a slightly smaller turbine wheel to bring the power in earlier in the rev range. Aside from that we are very happy with the current performance of the D40 High Flow turbo!
Conclusion:
We currently hold the record for the highest HP on a stock frame D40 turbo, and we are very proud of that. We will continue to improve the D40 Turbo, but for now we are extremely happy with the results.
